God Loves All

Many people either have a strong passion about gay marriage, or just don’t care enough to oppose. Then there are others who completely disagree because its “unnatural, and sick” Many of what I’ve heard what people say is “God didn’t put Adam and Steve, or Amanda and Eve” But religion has nothing to do with how gay people are and should never determine their right to get married.
I was talking to an extremely nice elder woman. She had told me a story from the bible about two towns named Sodom and Gomorrah. Two angels disguised as human men had visited the two towns and stayed at Lot’s house (Abraham’s son). Before they went to sleep all the men, young and old, from Sodom and Gomorrah had came to the house they were staying at. They called out to them “Where are the men who came to you tonight? Bring them out to us so that we can have sex with them.” The angels told Lot about the wrath God was about to bring down told and his family to flee the city. “the LORD rained down burning sulfur on Sodom and Gomorrah – from the LORD out of the heavens. Thus he overthrew those cities and entire plain, including all those living in the cities…” Many people are familiar to this story and is the main reason why people say it is disgraced and why gay people shouldn’t get married. I started reading more into it. What was the sin of Sodom and Gomorrah? Was it just on the fact the towns were homosexual? As I am myself a Christian, I believed that God loves all his children no matter what. Why should they be punished for being gay? That’s what didn’t make sense. If these people were burned and killed because they were homosexual then why are they living among us now? They weren’t killed for being homosexual. They were killed for performing gang rape. If you reread the story then you'll really understand.
But is everyone Christian? No. They're are many other religions out there so really no one has a say on what they feel is right. Christians don't have a say on how people should be or exclude their rights because of the way they are. Religion has nothing to do with being homosexual. That's how they are born. If religion was out of the question do you know how many people would be for gay marriages? It would be based on how you see them as human beings! Not based on what they believe in.

  1. I enjoyed your reference to the bible. However, I would focus on other reason for gay marriage and not just religious beliefs on the topic. Maybe focus on the different reasons why people choose to be gay such as because they have free will or either they experienced it whether it was interaction or what they saw while growing up.

  2. i still disagree with you, but you used very good points to support your counter argument. Add more stories to further strengthen your argument. Overall good work, and if you can explain a bit more about how people may be born gay, it can completely help out your argument.
